Food

The Castle has a strong following among locals and visitors alike for fine homemade food, offering a selection of starters, snacks, and desserts, as well as tantalising main courses.

Our fish is locally caught, and all produce is locally sourced wherever possible.

A downloadable sample menu (subject to seasonal change) can be found above, including dairy free options. You will also find our separate menus for vegan and gluten free options.

In addition, we offer a regularly changing selection of 'specials' (announced daily on our chalkboards), and a range of Sunday roasts.

Due to popularity, booking is strongly advised. We can offer seating in our bar, or our quieter 'Cottage' restaurant area, which also doubles as a small function or conference room seating up to 16 people. For slightly larger parties, our separate 'Garden Room' can accommodate up to 30 people.

Drinks

Our ales are supplied by local breweries Harvey's of Lewes and the multi-award winning Long Man Brewery (from just a few miles up the road in Litlington), plus the premium Abbot Ale from Greene King.

We are pleased to have been awarded a 5 star Cask Marque accreditation in recognition of the quality, appearance, and taste of our real ales.

We also offer Irish Stout from both Murphy's and Guinness, plus Source Pale Ale from the Laine Brewery. Add to this various draught and bottled lagers and ciders, plus a varied selection of wines, spirits, coffee, and soft drinks, and you really are spoiled for choice!
